A sex offender deemed to be “high risk” sexually assaulted a female prison officer during a violent incident in Norwich prison.
Edgar Ovalles, 30, had to be forcibly restrained after grabbing the woman, putting his hands down the back of her underwear and exposing his private parts.
He then attempted to bite her neck and arm and wrestled her to the floor, Norwich Crown Court was told.
He is believed to have drunk so-called prison hooch - illicit home-made alcohol - prior to the attack, said prosecutors.

CCTV played in court showed him being tackled by five officers on the prison landing before continuing to lash out in his cell during which he kicked another female officer to the face.
Ovalles has 11 previous convictions including sexually assaulting a 15-year-old girl in 2017 and indecent exposure to a woman in Dereham in 2021, the court heard.
He was on remand in HMP Norwich for separate sexual offences which the incident happened on October 13 last year.
Reading a victim impact statement in court, the officer said she had been new to the job at the time and was still living with the psychological aftereffects of the “very distressing” assault.
“I acknowledge the risk that comes with the responsibilities of being a prison officer but that should not involve being sexually assaulted,” she added.

The second officer said she had broken down and cried following the attack but has since “made it my mission” to monitor inmates who are a risk to fellow women.
Jailing him for 12 months, Judge Anthony Bate said: “This man is plainly a danger to women and he must be managed in custody and in the community as such.”
“There is not a shred of remorse shown by this defendant or insight into his offending,” he added.
He said he was now “red flagged” in the prison system as posing a particular risk.
