Officers at Norfolk County Council are drawing up an application to bid for a share of a £129m pot of cash which is being made available by the Department for Transport for a fleet of new electric buses.

The government is making the money available through the second phase of its Zero Emission Bus Regional Areas (ZEBRA) scheme.

County Hall received almost £15m from the initial phase of that scheme, with the first of those new buses already being used by passengers on city routes.
