A man is in hospital with serious injuries after a two-car crash on the on the A140 at Brome.

The accident, between a black Audi S8 and a blue Suzuki Wagon, happened close to the junction with Eye Road at 2.20pm today (Wednesday).

The East Anglian Air Ambulance and the Suffolk Accident Rescue Service (SARS) were both called at around 2.30pm.

The three people travelling in the Audi including a three-year-old boy had minor injuries but the 73-year-old man driving the Suzuki was thrown from his vehicle onto the road.

Paramedics took him to the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital with serious chest injuries.

The road closed in both directions and traffic was being re-directed from the A140/A143 roundabout.

It opened again at around 7.30pm.
