Part of a popular bus route from a tourist hub into Norwich will not run for more than a week because of major NDR work.

The First Eastern Counties 11 and 12 Pink Line services will not operate on the A1151 between Wroxham and Sprowston between 8pm on Friday, October 6 and 6am on Monday, October 16.

The travel changes are because the A1151 Wroxham Road will be closed to all traffic for 10 nights and nine full days so a deep culvert can be cut through it for the A1270 Norwich Northern Distributor Road.

Shuttle buses will run between Roys of Wroxham and Sprowston Tesco supermarket on Blue Boar Lane for morning and peak time passengers.

First Eastern Counties will also put on alternative afternoon peak time buses direct towards Wroxham.

Pink Line buses between Sprowston, the city centre and Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital are unaffected.

Steve Wickers, MD for First Eastern Counties, said: 'We are working closely with Norfolk County Council to try and minimise disruption to our bus services and have put in place arrangements to ensure reliability along the substantive section of this key bus corridor is maintained whilst providing an hourly shuttle through the affected area with a simple connection at Sprowston Tesco.'
