Colourful creations from community groups in Thetford will be on display for a church's scarecrow festival.

The United Reformed Church in Earls Street will host its second scarecrow festival displaying a range of creations made by local organisations.

The event will run from 10am to 4pm on Saturday, September 22, and 12pm to 3pm on Sunday, September 23.

Organisations such as the Brownies, Thetford Society, and Thetford Lionesses along with classes from Raleigh Infant and Drake Infant Schools will all be displaying scarecrows that they have made for the event. There will also be entertainment provided on Saturday lunchtime by 'Thursday Nights' and 'Hands in Harmony' as well as other musical contributions throughout the weekend.

Light lunches and refreshments will be served on both days, and there will be a tombola stall, treasure hunts and other activities for all the family.

Entry to the festival is free, but all money raised on the weekend will go toward the restoration and upkeep of the church.
