Chilled out Ibiza party classics will meet classical singing and Last Night of the Proms pomp at a very different Blickling Proms this weekend.

Hope for a suitably summery evening as the chilled out sounds of Classic Ibiza returns to Blickling Hall this weekend after last year's debut concert proved a big success.

When the BBC Proms 2015 invited Radio 1 to the hallowed Royal Albert Hall the first time in its 120 year history for a euphoric celebration of Ibiza — including sets from Pete Tong, Jules Buckley and the Heritage Orchestra transforming dance classics in to orchestral masterpieces — the template was set for a perfect summer night of blessed out Blickling.

Think a mix of classical concert and dance party full of iconic Ibiza anthems, performed by a world class orchestra at the beautiful National Trust property.

Classic Ibiza 2017 will be very much along the same lines as last year's popular inaugural event with the best Ibiza anthems being brought to life by the Urban Soul Orchestra (USO) conducted by Stephen Hussey with guest vocalists Max Barnes-Davy, Jina Burrows and Roo Savill, while international DJ Goldierocks will be live-mixing an exclusive, crowd-pleasing set.

A contemporary and versatile string ensemble, the Urban Soul Orchestra has worked for 20 years at the top of the UK music industry recording and performing with artists including Annie Lennox, Jay-Z, Kylie Minogue, Mick Jagger, The Script, Gabrielle and Take That.

'It is made up of musicians that enjoy listening to and playing a wide range of music so they have a good understanding of 'swing' and 'groove' and, as a result, our shows have a great feel about them,' said Stephen Hussey.

The Blickling concert will start with a fabulous 'chill-out' set featuring some of the best iconic Ibiza tracks including, Les Nuits by Nightmare on Wax, Massive Attack's Teardrop, Groove Armada's At the River and William Orbit's version of Barber's Adagio for Strings.

You wouldn't have thought it's a mix that would work but after the success of the Ibiza Prom at the BBC Proms it seems these dance culture tunes lend themselves rather well to a classical makeover.

During the interval, DJ Goldierocks will take over the stage and fill the Blickling evening air with her creative mix of top Ibiza tunes.

As the sun goes down, the Urban Soul Orchestra return with vocalists to bring their own flavour of Ibiza as they join Goldierocks on stage for the second half of the concert when the party really starts.

There will be five new tracks in the 2017 playlist and popular club anthems getting the classical make-over will include including Fat Boy Slim's Right Here, Right Now, Faithless' Insomnia, Chase and Status; Blind Faith, Swedish House Mafia's Don't You Worry Child and Underworld's Born Slippy.

The programme will once again create a club-atmosphere with a fantastic laser-show cutting through the night sky in sync with the music.

'Blickling is perfect,' said Stephen of the unusual setting to hear music more usually heard in clubs. 'Having that grand and wonderful house as the backdrop for a show is stunning.'
