To add to readers' comments 'Who thought up Brexit' in the paper (June 6), I want to use Theresa May's 'enough is enough'.
I am sick and tired of hearing 'Dementia Tax' used by both certain politicians and the media. I believe that it was coined by a senior member of the Labour Party, and certainly used by Tim Farron, leader of the Liberal Democrats, among others.
My late husband was a sufferer of this awful illness (Alzheimers Dementia) for many years, it is cruel and thoughtless to use the word 'dementia' to label a proposed tax rearrangement levied on people.
I despair of human nature that this term can be used so liberally. Would the politicians use 'Cancer Tax', 'Heart Failure Tax', 'Stroke Tax' and I could go on. I think not.
So, please, stop it, it is hurtful for those caring for a dementia suffer and the sufferers themselves.
