This week, the EDP is launching a major project to bring up to date the official roll of honour of those from our region who fell in the First World War.
On Saturday, we ran a supplement listing every man from Norfolk who was named on the original list, which was drawn up by researchers in the immediate aftermath of the war.
The supplement has drawn praise from readers but, as the supplement predicted, some have forward to say that some names appear to be missing.
We are committing to researching those names, to see if they are missing, or are commemorated elsewhere on the roll.
Starting in tomorrow's newspaper, we will be adding names that were apparently overlooked at the time, to ensure none are forgotten.
Help us with this project, tell us of any location in Norfolk which you believe was missing from the list. Please also provide, where possible, some of the names of the dead from that area – so we can check if they are listed elsewhere.
Email rosa.mcmahon@archant.co.uk with any information.
