• Buns of Fun

Emma Thorburn established Buns of Fun in 2010 after discovering that the tray bakes she had been making for beach picnics with friends were going down a treat. Today the company, which serves Sheringham, Cromer, Holt, and the surrounding areas, create beautiful bespoke cakes for all occasions and also offer cupcake decorating parties and spa'fternoon teas that would be ideal for a hen do.

Speaking about what she enjoys most about the business, Emma said: 'I love being part of a couple's special day, I always try and meet the pair to see what they're like and whether there is anything extra that I could add to their cake that they may not have thought of, so essentially each cake I make is individual and completely personal to the wedding it is designed for.'

• Sassa's Bespoke Cakes

Debbie Cowley began making cakes from a young age, initially being taught to bake by her mother Sassa, who she credits as the inspiration behind the business. Along with her husband Giles, and daughter Kayleigh, Debbie creates wedding and celebration bakes for couples across Norfolk and Suffolk that have the wow factor, with some of their most striking designs including a Marvel cake, Day of the Dead cake and wood effect cakes.

'It's great being able to deal with couples at such an exciting time in their relationship, they are so upbeat and happy and it just rubs off on you while you work. It's also fantastic to be able to work with my family, without them I wouldn't be able to do what I love and we work so well together, bouncing ideas off one another and combining our skills to make these unique cakes,' said Debbie.

'The Norfolk wedding Industry has been so welcoming. I've worked with some amazingly talented individuals on weddings and shoots. The first thing you notice is how conscientious everyone is- they care so much about their field. I think if you choose the right people for each party of your wedding you'll know that they will be working their socks off for you and pulling out all the stops,' said Charlie.

She added: 'From the cake side there's a lot of tough competition. There's so many great wedding cake bakers and decorators out there. But I think we all do something different, and there's so many different types of brides and wedding styles so it's lovely to take your pick. I love working most with creative couples who want something unusual for their wedding cake. I like to try and cone up with a new way to approach a cake-or a new technique to learn.'
