A planning bid has been submitted to create two new homes in the centre of Great Yarmouth.

Elgon (Enfield) Ltd has sent in a planning application to the borough council to convert the first and second floor storage areas at 176 King Street into a one bedroom unit and a studio unit.

If approved the units would be created above a new vaping shop that has opened on the bottom floor.

Planning papers say the conversion would require the reconfiguration of existing internal walls to create a shower room for the bedroom unit and a kitchen for the studio unit.

There would be no new windows or extensions added and the only external alteration to the building would be the addition of double doors at the side of ground floor level.

The report adds the impact on the character of the conversation zone would be negligible. People have until February 23 to send in their views to the council.
