A social app start-up has been seeking funding from international investors after pitching its delivery service at an industry event in San Francisco.

Now Norwich-based Grabbit is preparing to head off to a web summit in Lisbon this week as it aims to expand its business across the UK.

The platform allows users to find people willing to do errands for them – such as picking up items from the shops – for an agreed price.

The team is made up of Philip Roell, Alex Schroffenegger, Lucia Murgia and Ivo Zocchi who met through the University of East Anglia's Norwich Business School.

Mr Roell said the firm had already spoken to three international venture capitalist groups. He said: 'This would allow us to expand in the UK by targeting the more vulnerable customers in need of help for daily activities and university campuses, where we can find students looking for some extra income.'
