An independent luxury lingerie shop has closed its doors after sales failed to materialise to turn the business around.
Proudlock and Harry, in London Street, Norwich, has appointed Parker Andrews as administrators after ceasing to trade last week.
The store opened in September 2013, aiming to bring a high-end feel to the high street, specialising in designer lingerie, shoes and accessories. However, proposed liquidator Richard Cacho said the company directors had been financially supporting the business for some time.
He said: 'Trading has been difficult and keeping up with the blue-chips is near impossible in the current market, with the added pressure of online retailers offering similarly high end products at cut down prices, as they do not have the same overhead costs.'
There have been no redundancies, said Parker Andrews, as all staff were employed on a casual basis.
