A Norwich businessman is repeating his charities cash giveaway for a fourth year.

Carl Lamb, managing-director of Almary Green Investments, is inviting east coast charities to apply for a share of a £10,000 pot of cash.

He first donated £10,000 to good causes in 2011 to mark 10 years of success for his firm, and was so touched by the gratitude he received that he established a trust fund to give out money annually.

Over the past three years, more than 60 charities and good causes have received donations ranging from £100 to £2,000.

Among those to have benefited so far include East Coast Hospice, Grapevine talking newspaper for the blind and Friends of Hemblington Primary School.

Mr Lamb said: 'Almary Green has done extremely well again this year with a record turnover. We continue to go from strength to strength year on year.

'Without the support of local people and local businesses Almary Green would not be in the position we are in today.

'I think it is right to spread some of that good fortune around to help make a difference in the lives of people who have been less fortunate.'

While causes which have benefited in the past are welcome to apply again – and some organisations have received help on two occasions – Mr Lamb is looking forward to receiving applications from other groups.

He said: 'There are hundreds of good causes out there and we would love to widen the net further than ever this year,' he said.

Nomination forms are available from Almary Green's website, www.almarygreen.com/awards.

The closing date for receipt of nominations is June 30. The shortlist will be drawn up from information provided on the form.

Mr Lamb, who will chair the selection panel, said: 'Almary Green is looking to support specific projects or help with the purchase of something that makes a difference to the lives of those in need.'

Almary Green looks after more than 8,000 clients around the world, administers more than 100 group pension schemes and has £350m of funds under management.
