The future of some jobs at one of Fakenham's biggest employers is uncertain after the factory's American owner confirmed a restructure was being considered.
Food manufacturer Hain Daniels, which employs around 500 people across its two sites in the town, has said it is carrying out a review of its chilled dessert arm and is consulting with staff affected by the proposals.
However, the US food giant has refused to confirm how many roles could be affected.
Hain Daniels has said it will discuss potential opportunities of transferring staff to other group sites.
A statement said: 'Following a review of our chilled desserts business, we are proposing to make changes to our facility in Fakenham, starting in the autumn of 2017.
'We have commenced discussions with our Fakenham desserts colleagues about our proposal.
'There will follow a collective 45-day consultation period, during which time The Hain Daniels Group will be discussing potential alternative opportunities for colleagues including transferring within the adapted facility and openings at other group sites.
'No other Hain Daniels Group site is affected.'
Hain Daniels produces brands including New Covent Garden Soup, Hartley's, Sun Pat, Rose's and Robertson's jam.
Its Fakenham factories manufacture Linda McCartney's range of vegetarian food as well as chilled desserts which have been stocked in Sainsbury's.
