A new county organiser has joined the team at Norfolk Young Farmers.
Katharine Robinson, who has taken over the role from Rachel Cole, has enjoyed a varied career including tutoring post-16 students and assisting them in gaining apprenticeships, working as a teaching assistant for a Norfolk junior school and running her own football club.
Her most recent post was as an independent domestic violence adviser for Norfolk-based charity Leeway, where she worked with high-risk victims of domestic abuse, as well as liaising with the police, probation, social services and other agencies supporting victims and their families.
She is an active public speaker on the subject of domestic abuse, and also delivers training via an organisation which offers out-of-hours mental health treatment.
On her new appointment, she said: 'I would like to thank Norfolk YFC for giving me the opportunity to take on this new challenge. I have no specific agricultural background, but have many transferable skills which I believe will help me to fulfil this role along with the help and guidance from the team in the Norfolk YFC office.'
