A barrister at an East Anglian law firm has been nominated for an award for his advocacy in corporate criminal law.

Birketts' Matthew Gowen is a finalist in the employed advocate of the year category at the inaugural Bar Council Employed Bar Awards.

The prizes will be presented at an awards dinner at the Tower of London on the June 30.

Mr Gowen was called to the bar in 1992 and works within the Birketts corporate criminal defence team, primarily based in Ipswich.

He has experience from over 20 years at the criminal bar and offers advice and representation in all areas of corporate and regulatory crime.
