They are a girl group with a difference - they are all men.
And the Viva La Drag show coming to Cromer Pier charts the music, comedy, band fall outs and tears as the four singers rise from rags to fame.
It is being billed as “the ultimate girls’ night out” - a mix of singalong songs and sparkling costumes, cross-dressing and music theatre
The West End show - which is for over 16s only - is fronted by singer Sam Buttery a 2012 finalist on TV’s The Voice when he was mentored by Sir Tom Jones.
Sam went on to star in the 2012/13 production of the musical Taboo, playing the part of a performance artist, fashion designer and club promoter which saw him having his head shaved and appear with a full head of make-up.
The story follows the fortunes of an all-male/female close harmony group, whose razor-tongued manager navigates band splits and solo hits.
The band is played by drag artistes Vicki Vivacious, Vanilla Lush, Portia De Fosse and Silver Summers.
It is directed by Kylie Minogue’s creative director, and features songs especially composed by Boy George,
Classic hits are combined with today’s chart toppers such as Single Ladies, Stop in the Name of Love, Car Wash, Get Lucky, Rolling in the Deep, Jolene, Crazy in Love, and Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy.
Costume design is by Stevie Stewart, whose work features on Kylie’s famed world tours,
Sow producer Michael Taylor said: “It’s an evening of glitz, hits, dance and kitsch boasting a real musical pedigree.
