Hundreds of people turned out for Oulton Broad Charity Gala today.
The annual event at Nicholas Everitt Park is organised by the Lowestoft Lions and proceeds from the day will be distributed to local good causes.
The fun got under way at 9am and will continue in to this evening with performances by local musicians and Lowestoft’s only public firework display of the year, which will be set off from a barge on the broad at 9pm.
The Vander Brothers topped the bill during the day with their spectacular aerial Quad Wheel of Death show.
The annual maiden in distress raft race was also a hit with onlookers, who laughed and cheered throughout the event.
The entertainment also included powerboat racing, a children’s area, Waveny Valley Brass Band and a full programme of acts on stage and in the main arena, including Waggy Tails dog agility display team, the 3-Sixty cycle display team, Phoenix Karate School, Guitar George and the Lowestoft Signing Choir.
The all-day attractions included Grays funfair and static displays as well as the usual host of stalls, food outlets and drink tents.
