There will be a double dose of variety in Holt this month when the Auden Theatre hosts two events for charity.

Showtime - Celebration of 60 years was first produced in May 2012 to celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee but will be shown again at the Auden Theatre on September 23 at 2pm following rave reviews.

The variety show will feature Norfolk comedian Pat Nearney, vocalist Sharon Hunt, a Max Miller tribute act and The Lowestoft Singing Choir, as well as dancing, magic and flag waving during a section dedicated to the last night of the proms.

The show is being staged by the Good Intentions Fundraising Team, which supports local good causes, and show business group the Grand Order of Water Rats, which supports charities ranging from Cancer Research UK, to St John Ambulance.

Also at the Auden Theatre on September 23 will be the Grand Order of the Water Rats’ annual variety show at 7.30pm. Acts include ventriloquist Alan Simmons, comedian Ian Richards, entertainer Kenny Cantor, impressionist Steve Barclay, music speciality Stringbox and vocalists Julia Burnett, Rob Charles and Shani Cantor.

Proceeds from both shows will go to The Grand Order of Water Rats, Park House respite hotel at Sandringham and Sheringham First Responders.

Tickets for the 2pm performance cost £5 in advance or £6 on the door. The later show costs £10 and £8.50 concessions. Call 01263 768076.
