Spring is in the air, and Barton Turf Choral Society is celebrating by performing a special concert in a village church.
The musical event will be held at St. Michael and All Angels Church, Barton Turf, on Saturday April 12 from 7pm.
They will be joined by David Dunnet, organist at Norwich Cathedral; guest soloists and The Barton Players - local musicians who come together to play for the choral society.
It will be the final concert with Kris Thomsett as the musical director.
Mr Thomsett will be taking up the post of organ scholar at Salisbury Cathedral, and will be moving to Salisbury in the summer, after completing his degree course at the University of East Anglia.
The role of musical director for the choral society will be taken on by the organ scholar elect of Norwich Cathedral.
The spring concert will include two well-known masses, one being Schubert’s Mass in G and the other, Mozart’s Missa Brevis.
Entrance is by programme, which includes refreshments and costs £12 for adults or £6 for children and students.
Tickets may be booked in advance, ring 01603 760669 or can be bought on the door. The concert venue can be found by using the postcode NR12 8YU.
The choral society has been invited back as guest choir to lead Choral Evensong at Norwich Cathedral on Saturday June 14 at 3pm.
