The manicured lawns of Voewood House are a far cry from the hedonism of the Hacienda - but for one night Peter Hook and the Light made this corner of Norfolk their unlikely home.

Reliving the past glories of Joy Division and New Order in such a setting could be either sublime or tragic. Thankfully this performance edged more towards the sublime.

Hook ripped into angry versions of Digital, Isolation and She’s Lost Control, coaxing sufficient numbers off their fold-up seats to create a suitable atmosphere.

From the anthemic Temptation to the irresistible finale of Love Will Tear Us Apart, this is music intended to fill dance floors.

Chances to see a man who helped define a musical era in such an intimate setting are few and far between.

A well-healed audience in a marquee may not be the post-punk crowd as we know it but nobody seemed to care.

This was far more than going through the motions – this was a performance from a man whose passion stills echoes through every thud of his bass.
