Morticia and Gomez Addams took their gruesome family out to visit the locals to help promote the New Taverham Players’ production of The Addams Family Musical.

Ghosts, zombies and ghouls invaded Barclays Bank and the Tesco supermarket in Drayton, where they entertained customers with extracts from their hilariously horrifying new musical.

Based on the well-known TV and film series, The Addams Family Musical sees Wednesday Addams invite her fiancé Lucas Bieneke and his ‘normal’ family for dinner at the Addams’ creepy mansion in the middle of Central Park.

A disastrous dinner party ensues, during which everyone is forced to reveal their deepest darkest secrets. Will the two families be able to overcome their differences and celebrate the marriage of Lucas and Wednesday or is the wedding doomed?

The Addams Family Musical originally appeared on Broadway with Nathan Lane playing Gomez Addams and this is its East Anglian premiere.

The New Taverham Players celebrate their 40th anniversary next year. This stage for this show will recreate the Addams’ gothic mansion and the costume department needing to dress the cast as zombies risen from the grave.

With over 20 musical numbers, the Players say the darkly comic, monstrously moving and horrifically hilarious musical is guaranteed to leave the audience’s spirits lifted.

The Addams Family Musical runs from May 12-17 at 7.30pm and a 2pm Saturday matinee at Taverham Village Hall, Sandy Lane. Tickets are £8 for adults / £7 for concessions and can be bought by calling 01603 424313.
