The diver- who has already agreed to front a new celebrity diving show called ‘Splash!’ - will embark on a gap year as he takes time off from the swimming pool, and will be followed by cameras as he sees famous sites around the globe in ‘On The Edge’.

A source told today’s Daily Star newspaper: “Most lads his age pack their bags and head off round the world on their own adventure. So that’s what Tom is going to do.

“There will be plenty of laughs along the way.”

The series will be filmed over the next eight months and will be aired in September 2013.

Speaking about his show ‘Splash!’ recently, Tom revealed it was a “dream come true” to present his own show.

He said: “What better way to round it off by becoming involved in this great new show; a dream come true for me - an entertainment show all about diving.

“I’ll be helping the celebrities as they master a dangerous and exciting sport and I can’t wait to get started.”
