A role-reversal night at a Norwich restaurant this weekend raised more than £3,500 for East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (Each).

Waiters became chefs and chefs became waiters at Stower Grange Hotel in Drayton for the event which was part of this year’s Norfolk Food and Drink Festival.

About 70 guests enjoyed a three-course meal on Friday evening.

Residential manager Richard Baker said: “We had a superb reaction. Everybody thoroughly enjoyed themselves.”

A charity auction, with lots including a golf day for four at Weston Park, country house hotel stays, and a family photo shoot, raised more than £1,000 alone.

Head chef Lee Parrette, who served diners for the evening, said: “I managed to auction myself to go and cook at someone’s house for £510.”

The evening raised a total of £3,550.
