UEA LCR, Norwich
> UEA LCR, Norwich
As befitting a band with a recent chart-topping album to their name, Embrace strode on to the UEA stage last night with a certain swagger.
Their record Out of Nothing has propelled the northerners back to the top of the music tree.
And from the moment lead singer Danny McNamara took up the mike, the sell-out crowd was enthralled as the combination of sorrowful ballads and Indie anthems filled the air.
Hit single Gravity and current release Ashes were among the favourites, while tracks such as Someday and Out of Nothing were equally well received.
But the biggest cheers of the night were reserved for old favourites such as Come Back to What You Know and My Weakness Is None of Your Business, early hits that put the band on the map. It is safe to say Norwich can be added to the list of venues that have seen Embrace back on top form.
However, as good as Danny's smooth vocals were, he was helped immensely by Cornish-based support band Thirteen Senses and their earlier performance. The four-piece band and lead singer Will South are certainly ones to look out for.
People in Norwich were left looking to the skies outside The Forum this lunchtime as music was blasted out across the city.
