England Under-21s will get revved up for their play-off clash at Carrow Road on Friday by watching speedway at King's Lynn's Norfolk Arena tomorrow night.

An FA spokesman confirmed that the young Three Lions' boss Stuart Pearce and some of his squad will visit Saddlebow Road to watch Lynn's Young Stars take on Rye House in a National League clash.

The club's VIP guests on the night will meet the riders and watch the action while, where possible, posing for pictures with fans and signing autographs. Stars co-promoter Jonathan Chapman said: 'Both speedway teams feature some young and exciting riders under the age of 21 so all parties felt it would be a massive positive for both sports if the England team were to come along and watch.

'We will be taking the players around the pits to meet the riders, and hopefully everyone involved can take some inspiration from each other which can only help towards future success for the country both on the football pitch and the speedway track.'

Liverpool's Jordan Henderson and Manchester United's Nick Powell could be among the footballing stars to visit the Norfolk outfit as Pearce gives them a break from their pre-match preparations.

The Under-21s face Serbia at Carrow Road in a Euro 2013 play-off, first leg match, which is being televised live on ESPN. Friday's match kicks-off at 6pm.
