Wroxham will be looking to benefit from an added day’s rest when they travel to Thurrock today.

The Yachtsmen’s rearranged fixture against Ware fell foul of the weather for a second time this season on Thursday, giving the side an extra day in preparation for a potentially busy weekend with two away trips to Thurrock and AFC Sudbury in the space of 48 hours.

Seventh-placed Thurrock on the other hand haven’t played a Saturday home match since December 14th, only getting just two competitive games under their belt since the start of 2014.

However, a 10-1 demolition of Erith and Belvedere 10 days ago proved their was no rustiness in the camp, with leading goalscorer David Knight bagging five to take his tally to an impressive 19 goals in just 20 appearances for the season.

Knight scored a late winner when the two teams met back in October, The Fleet coming from 2-0 down to snatch an unlikely 3-2 victory, giving The Yachtsmen added incentive in this afternoon’s game.

Daniel Self returns from suspension, with young midfielder Jack Guyton hopeful of retaining his starting place after scoring his first senior goal for the club against Tilbury last Saturday.

Elsewhere in Ryman Division One North, Dereham Towm, sixth, face a daunting trip to league leaders VCD Athletic.

The Magpies are yet to win away in the calendar year and suffered their latest frustrating defeat on the road at AFC Sudbury on Tuesday evening. Despite playing well, Matt Henman’s side went down 2-0.
