Wroxham boss Pawel Guziejko has vowed his team will not need another relegation reprieve to keep them in the Ryman League next season.

The Yachtsmen should have exited Division One North after finishing 22nd but were given a lifeline with Ware being switched to the Southern set-up. Yet the passionate Pole is adamant he is definitely not expecting to be involved in another dogfight at the bottom of the table when football returns in August.

Guziejko said: 'We'll be better for what's happened this term. I've learnt. There's no chance there's going to be another season like that.

'Our team is the youngest in the league, 17, 16 and 18-year-old boys. (Dan) Selfy (Self), is 30 but that's the only player. So if you look now, they already have 46 games under their belts. (Sam) Harty, (Aaron) Sanders, Joe Marsden. Then, in years to come, they're going to be only 20 and have three years experience.

'When I meet you guys (journalists) then I think we'll be having a completely different conversation, because I know what I want to do. The good people, the good coaches, the good managers, they keep doing what they're doing. They don't listen to people around them. It doesn't mean you don't listen to smart people – but you do what you have to do.

'Sometimes you actually have to make two steps back to actually make one forward.'

The villagers are littered with talented products of their youth acadamy and many, including Marsden and Harty, excelled at Carrow Road during Thursday's Norfolk Senior Cup final against Gorleston. However, even though higher-level Wroxham lost 2-0, Guziejko says he is not thinking about injecting lashes of experience into his squad.

And he remains confident he has the backing of those at the helm of the Trafford Park outfit who share his long-term and primarily youthful vision for the future of the part-time club.

The Wroxham boss said: 'I'm put in charge of putting 11 people on the pitch and trying to win a game. In this industry, we're judged by results.

'So in that sense, I've failed. But in terms of performance, we succeeded. There's plenty of things to go forward. I'm pretty sure I want Norfolk to be proud in two or three years time. When you come to see us in better events, which is our aim in the end, you will see 11 people playing here who have grown up here, and have the heart and passion for Wroxham.

'Remember I've only been here nine months. Now we know that we're staying where we are, which is the good news, people expect me to bring thousands of new people in just because someone told me to. But I'm not going to do that.

'I have my vision, I know what I'm going to do, and I have a great chairman behind me. Wroxham will be successful with the new philosophy I've applied into the club.'

The Yachtsmen won just 10 of their 46 league games at Step Four of the non-league ladder this season. They have also lost their last two county cup finals, one of which was under club legend David Batch – who was replaced by Guziejko last summer.
