The biggest game of Thetford Town’s season arrives in the Thurlow Nunn Premier this afternoon, when they take on Woodbridge Town in a relegation six-pointer.

Woodbridge made a dreadful start to the season but two homes wins in succession, against Brightlingsea and Clacton, has sparked a great escape.

The Suffolk side had just two points at the start of December but five goals from striker James Hubbard in the last week has helped bring them within four points of safety and five of Thetford.

With a trip to bottom-of-the-table Wivenhoe next weekend, Thetford have truly reached the defining week of their season.

Elsewhere in the Premier Division, seventh-placed Norwich United host league leaders Hadleigh United at Plantation Park.

Damian Hilton’s side are unbeaten in six, winning five of those, but will face a big task in stopping free-scoring Hadleigh as the Suffolk side have scored 92 goals in their 32 league games so far.

Kirkley & Pakefield are also at home, looking to build on two successive wins and improve their comfortable mid-table position against CRC.

Gorleston, still flying high in third but fresh from announcing they will not be accepting promotion if they achieved it this season, are away at 11th-placed Walsham-le-Willows.

Diss are also on the road but face a tough task to ease their relegation fears at sixth-placed Haverhill Rovers.

The promotion race is really heating up in the First Division as well, with Swaffham Town and Fakenham Town both chasing a spot in the top three.

Fourth-placed Swaffham can move into third with a win against the team two points above them, Halstead Town, at Shoemakers Lane.

Fakenham have a good chance to close the five-point gap to leaders Whitton United when they travel to bottom-of-the-table Cornard United.

Eighth-placed Great Yarmouth Town are at home against lowly Needham Market Reserves.
