Norwich United must return their focus to league action today, as their FA Vase adventure is put on the back burner until mid-January.

The Planters now know they will travel to Kent to face Ashford United in the fourth round of the Vase, as the Southern Counties Premier Division side won their replay against Littlehampton Town on Tuesday night.

That tie is scheduled for Saturday, January 17, with £2,000 going to the winner of the last-16 tie. United made it to the fourth round for the second successive season with a 1-0 win at Tring last Saturday and are looking to reach the fifth round for the first time in the Blofield club’s history.

Damian Hilton’s side have won 13 of their last 14 matches and remain three points clear of Godmanchester at the top of the Thurlow Nunn Premier Division table, with a game in hand, ahead of today’s trip to Diss Town.

The Tangerines sit bottom of the table after a first loss under new boss Mark Reeve last week, being beaten 4-0 at Kirkley & Pakefield.

The Royals moved up to fourth with that win and go in search of their fourth successive league victory at 12th-placed Whitton United.

Fakenham are unbeaten in six games and could take advantage of a slip from Kirkley to climb above them into fourth if they can win at Mildenhall.

Thetford host third-placed Newmarket, looking to bounce back from a disappointing 4-1 home defeat to FC Clacton, while Gorleston go to struggling Wivenhoe Town.

In the First Division, Swaffham have four games in hand on two of the teams above them in the table and are looking to get back to winning ways after their home clash with Stowmarket was postponed due to overnight frost last weekend.

The Pedlars are due to go to AFC Sudbury Reserves, with a win potentially lifting them as high as second place.

King’s Lynn Town Reserves host third-placed Debeham LC, having won three of their last four league games.

Great Yarmouth go to mid-table Halstead Town, having seen their FA Vase run ended in the fourth round with a 1-0 loss in their rearranged tie at Hullbridge Sports on Tuesday.

Downham Town go to lowly Leiston Reserves, looking for their third win in a row.
