Wroxham gave new boss Jamie Godbold the perfect introduction to Trafford Park with their first win of the new year.

The Yachtsmen were 2-0 home winners over FC Clacton, ending a run of four defeats which ultimately cost joint managers Tom Parke and Ross Potter their jobs.

Parke wasn't out of football long – he has already been appointed first team coach at Stowmarket, who thrashed Fakenham Town 7-1 at the weekend.

After a goalless first half, Wroxham went ahead on the hour mark when Connor Ingram scored after good work by Connor Deeks.

Adam Smith made it 2-0 eight minutes later, firing low into the far corner having made space for himself in the area.

Thetford came within seconds of picking up a terrific away point at runaway leaders Felixstowe & Walton United.

Max Melanson scored from the penalty spot on 17 minutes to put Thetford ahead, but it was level just before half-time when Miles Powell levelled from another spot kick. But in the fourth minute of time added on, Powell came up with a winner and Thetford were denied a deserved share of the spoils.

Great Yarmouth Town's 1-0 home win over Godmanchester Rovers made it five games unbeaten for the Bloaters, who were indebted to Haydn Davis for the winner.

Neighbours Gorleston were 2-1 home winners over Ely City. The Greens were behind at the break, but goals from Joel Watts five minutes into the second half and Ross Gilfedder, seven minutes from the final whistle, gave them the points.

It was a good day for the east coast clubs, with Kirkley & Pakefield winning 2-1 at Haverhill Borough.

In the First Division, Norwich CBS were 2-0 winners at Downham Town.

CBS broke the deadlock in the second half when Stephen Drake latched on to a ball over the top and smashed it into the roof of the net. The second goal came after the home defence played heading pin ball in their box with the ball coming off the bar for Jordan Attree to head home. Downham had two goals disallowed but were reduced to 10 men when defender Pat Yates was red-carded.

Swaffham were beaten 2-1 at home by Framlingham Town.
