Gorleston look to keep unbeaten run going
Gorleston face a tough away trip to Saffron Walden Town as they bid to retain their unbeaten start to 2018.
Walden are currently three places and six points better off than Gorleston, although they lost 5-1 when they visited Emerald Park earlier in the season.
However, they have only lost two of their 15 home league games this season.
Fakenham are at home to Newmarket Town, with manager Andy Cunningham hailing the immediate impact of his recent signings.
Former King’s Lynn Town Reserves winger Adam Reeve made his debut for the Ghosts against Brantham Athletic at the weekend with former Wroxham striker Ryan Fuller coming off the bench for his first appearance in amber and black.
Despite falling to a 1-0 defeat to the Blue Imps, Cunnigham thought there were plenty of positives for his side to take after a much-improved performance.
“I thought the performance against Brantham was excellent and again the new faces came into the squad and had an immediate impact,” he said. “We bought three new faces into the side at Gorleston last Tuesday (a 2-0 defeat) and another two on Saturday and they have all settled really well and helped bolster the squad.
“It is not just about what they do on the pitch, but they have had a big impact across the whole squad because when new faces come in and you have got that bit of strength in depth everyone starts to look over their shoulder and people up their game to keep their place. We are definitely making progress and having a squad with a strong bench and plenty of options is a big part of that.”
Wroxham have a difficult trip to leaders Felixstowe & Walton United, but they have consecutive wins – both without conceding and scoring eight goals in the process – under their belts.
Kirkley & Pakefield are at home to FC Clacton.
In the First Division, Norwich United’s Under-21s will be desperate to shrug off the effects of their 11-2 mauling at Whitton United – but have a difficult game at home to King’s Lynn Town’s second string. Norwich CBS travel to Leiston while Swaffham host Halstead.
