The three leading teams in the Premier Division of the Norfolk SRA Squash League all had convincing victories with top of the table Potters beating Barnham Broom 17-7 while East Anglia and East Anglia II recorded maximums against Bannatyne’s and Bob Carter Leisure Centre respectively.

Potters lost the fourth and fifth string matches with Ian Thompson beating Eric Plane 3-1 and Adam Goodson winning 3-2 against David Cook but they had more success at the top of the order with Paul Field beating Peter Hubbard 3-1 and Rob Hambrook and Jamie Goodrich both winning in straight games against Simon Howling and Matthew Bolt respectively.

East Anglia were too strong for Bannatyne’s with Ian Douglass, John Cordeaux, Richard Hunt and Dave Gouldby all winning their matches 3-0 while Ashley Bowling won 3-1. Luke Doddington and Andrew Woods both won in straight games for East Anglia II while Mark Rolfe, Ashley Briggs and David Youngs all won their matches 3-1.

It is extremely tight at the top of Division One where Diss are now in pole position after East Anglia III dropped points in a narrow 14-11 victory away to third in the table North Walsham.

Bannatyne’s II have moved to the top of Division Two after thrashing Cromer, who have now dropped down to third place, 20-1.

East Anglia V are in second place after beating a four man Beccles team 18-4.

At the other end of the table Broadland III had their first win of the season, beating Bob Carter Centre II 17-9. Despite only having four players Potters II were still too strong for bottom of the table Cromer II in Division Three, winning 15-8.

Barnham Broom III consolidated their third place with a 16-7 win over Broadland Hunters.
