The first Veterans Captain's day at Eaton Golf Club attracted 68 entries.

A Stableford team competition comprising four players was played with the best two scores counting on each hole. Teams were drawn using a computer to give each team a similar handicap profile and the winning team of Richard Ball, Peter Warren, Mike Nicholls and Geoffrey Futter scored 86 points.

A raffle took place in aid of the Club Captain's charity (Sparks 4 Hearts) and 500 was raised. The Veterans Captain Barry Pinching persuaded his son Scott of Smith & Pinching to donate a similar sum from the Smith & Pinching Charitable Trust and cheques were presented to Club Captain Keith Cross totalling 1000.
