Beccles captain Bob Janney organised a greensomes competition and a very large field took part with players playing with preferred partners.

With an early frost and wet greens players struggled to read putts and judge shots into the greens.

Last year’s club doubles winners Steve Driver and Keith Pickering showed that they will again be a force to beat, winning with 40 points. Second went to competition organiser Willie White and Bryan Debenham.

The captain thanked Willie for preparing the greens and Ali for the hot refreshments.

This weekend will be qualifing medals.
