Red-hot Acle took their goal tally to 14 in the last two matches as they turned up the heat on their Sterry- Cup chasing archrivals Blofield.

While the top-of-the table Beavers were being held to a 1-1 draw at Beccles, Acle made hay by thrashing Wymondham 6-2 at Bridewell Lane.

Ricci Butler led the way with four goals and Daniel Foreman and Ricky Forder also netted as Acle followed up last weekend's 8-2 demolition of Loddon in emphatic style. Callum Webb and Robert Browne replied for the visitors.

Acle, who have never won the Sterry Cup and were pipped at the post by Cromer last season, are now two points behind the Beavers, who are chasing their seventh top flight title. Ben Morgan's strike secured Blofield's point at Beccles with Damon Bensley on target for Wherrymen.

Reigning champions Cromer, who are in fifth, five points behind the leaders with a game in hand, were held 2-2 at Spixworth.

Antoni Fawkes and Dale Wilton were the Crabs' marksmen while Daniel Brown and Matthew Elwin netted for the hosts.

Dersingham Rovers won a mid-table battle at Mattishall 3-1 thanks to goals from Daniel Jezeph, Paul English and Rob Palmer with George Jermy replying for the hosts. Kevin Winkworth (2) and Andrew Moody helped Reepham to secure a 3-2 home win over St Andrews, who replied through John Muir and Lewis Butcher.

North Walsham won the battle of the bottom two clubs as Antony Davies and Connor Kerry netted in the 2-0 win over Hempnall.

The Kirkley and Pakefield Reserves v Loddon and Wroxham Reserves v Sheringham games were postponed.

Norwich CEYMS extended their lead at the top of Division One to four points with a 2-0 win at Caister. A Ritchie High strike earned a 1-1 draw for second-placed Corton at Wells (Kent Cooper).

Long Stratton climbed up from fifth place to third as John King (2), Andy Clitheroe and Sam Page netted in the 4-0 win at Stalham.

Top senior scorers of the day were Aylsham, who romped to a 7-1 home win over Bradenham Wanderers in a mid-table battle.

Travis Whitlam 2, Ben Soanes, Stuart Bowman, Tom Bush, Mark Gaskin and an own goal secured Aylsham's success with Karl Bush scoring the consolation reply.

Chris Fuller's hat-trick paved the way for Holt United's 4-2 win over Horsford with Matthew Sanders also on target for the north Norfolk outfit. Alan Rudder and James Taylor replied.

A 4-2 home defeat by Harleston kept Hellesdon in the relegation danger zone. Fionn Goodwin-Wright, David Norman, Paul Bliss and Tom Ramsay netted for the visitors with Glen Spooner and Danny Shafiyan replying. Hindringham's home game against Watton was postponed.

Bungay closed the gap on Division Two leaders Scole to one point after a 1-0 win at Mundford. Scole were beaten 4-3 at Attleborough.
