King’s Lynn Town will be looking to bounce back from their first defeat of the season tonight when they welcome Carlton Town to The Walks (7.45pm).

Gary Setchell’s side will be hoping to end Carlton’s fine away start, which has seen them win both of their Evo-Stik Division One South matches on the road this term, after their own 100pc record was ended at Sheffield FC on Saturday.

Having lost to a side who reached last campaign’s play-offs at the weekend, Setchell admits his charges are in for a tough test against a Millers outfit who also reached the end-of-season shoot-out last time round.

The Lynn boss said: “You pencil in teams who you think will do well, such as Sheffield, Carlton, Stamford and Northwich Victoria. So obviously we know Carlton will be a very good side.

“They will come here and cause us problems but we caused Sheffield problems on Saturday and complimentary things have been said by people about the game. So we’ll go into our home games believing we have every chance of winning.”

Midfielder Dan Quigley will miss the first of his two-match suspension while striker Russell Dunkley is also unavailable after injuring his calf at Sheffield. Ross Watson’s three-game ban starts on Saturday.

The Lynn boss said: “With the absentees we’ve got we’re trying to bring someone in because we’re getting down to the bare bones. But that’s football.

“We’ll have a few reserve players on the bench but there’s no complaints from me.

“We will still go into with a strong side and hopefully we can get back to winning ways.”
