parkrun round-up: King’s Lynn runners were out in force in Julie’s honour

King’s Lynn

It was a red letter day at King’s Lynn as parkrunners turned out in force in honour of stalwart runner Julie Lithe.

Julie lost her battle with cancer a few years ago and many runners wore red in her memory as 334 runners took part in the event.

They were led home by Matt Pyatt (Renegade Runners) in his 182nd parkrun in an impressive time of 16:58. Peter Holmes (Ely Runners) was just behind in 17:39 whilst Paul Keaney set a new personal best of 18:15 in third place.

Sally Lynn Hurst (Renegade Runners) was first female in 20:38 with Rebecca Judge second in 21:51. Lisa Pyatt (Renegade Runners) was third in 22:14.

Chris Craddock made his 50th parkrun one to remember as he set a new PB of 22:57 whilst Paul Maclean notched up his 100th in 22:31.

An impressive 148 parkrunners took to Sheringham on Saturday and they were led home by North Norfolk Harriers, Finlay Swanson.

The youngster posted an excellent time of 18:47, ahead of club mate Jamie Stares in second in 18:59. Henry Jonas, also of North Norfolk Harriers, was third in 19:32.

Junior runner Amberly Wright (Runners-next-the-Sea) was first female with a new personal best of 24:07 whilst Lisa Tovey was just behind in 24:23. Sarah Keeble was third in 24:50.

Clare Phillips and Karen Stubberfield (North Norfolk Beach Runners) both clocked up their 50th parkruns in 31:29 and 38:22 respectively.

Thetford

John Scoggins led runners home in his first parkrun at Thetford.

The City of Norwich athlete came home in 17:55 ahead of Harley Swan in second in 19:16. Darren Woodward (Tri-Anglia) was third in 19:54.

Sabine Schaefer (Thetford AC) was first female in 20:36 ahead of Heidi Teixera in 21:58. Natlie King was third with a new personal best of 22:05.

James Scott clocked up his 100th parkrun in 37:51 whilst Sam Bellotti hit the same landmark in 20:19.

Samuel Coyne (Bure Valley Harriers) scorched his way to a new personal best of 16:18 at Gorleston.

Ross Lambert wasn’t far behind as he also broke the 17-minute barrier in 16:43 whilst Darren Honour (Bungay Black Dog RC) was third in 17:42.

Junior runner Amelia Webber (Beccles and Bungay Harriers) was first female in 19:51 with a new personal best with Rebecca Pountain second in 21:51. Autumn Hales (Bure Valley Harriers) was third on her first visit to Gorleston in 22:20.

Karim Ouaddane (Waveney Valley AC) notched up his 200th parkrun in 24:49 whilst Jane Trudgill (Yarmouth Road Runners) ran his 150th in 32:14. Roz Maclachlan (Beccles and Bungay Harriers) posted her 100th parkrun in 40:44.

Lowestoft

Carl Prewer (Lowestoft Road Runners) led the 255 parkrunners home at Lowestoft, posting an excellent time of 17:29 in the process.

Dominic Oliver (City of Norwich AC) was second in 18:11 with Roi Martinez third in 18:23.

Tracy Prewer (Lowestoft Road Runners) was first female in 22:20 with Nicole Goffin (Waveney Valley AC) second in 22:24. Alice Carruthers set a new personal best of 22:42 in third place.

Daniel Harris clocked up his 50th parkrun in 21:43 whilst Mark Smith ran his 100th in 25:07.
