Light winds frustrated crews up to the swing bridge at Beccles Amateur Sailing Club on Saturday.
Progress was steady until the trees were reached leaving most unable to make the mark, moving backwards against the now flooding tide. Eight did eventually finish with Kevin and Pippa Edwards in Enterprise Sharkie leading throughout and taking the bell eight minutes ahead of Rory Kelsey and Georgie Roll in Evil Edna.
Stronger winds off the Norfolk bank helped younger helms enjoy the Junior Open on Sunday. In the Gold group, which sailed the longest course, two good starts by Charlie Folkard in Streaker Go Bananas could not prevent Harry Shipley in Laser H, even after a penalty turn in race one, from dominating each of three races and taking the Mascall Tankard. The Silver Topper group enjoyed a close first race with Eddie Blankley first to the windward mark but unable to hold off Rachael Folkard and Jacob Woolnough, who had a close finish up to the line. In race two Folkard remained ahead throughout taking the win and the Asti Tankard.
Norwich City has released the first images of its new kit for the 2013/14 Premier League season - and released an online video to promote it.
