West returned to winning ways by edging out Crusaders.
A Henry Rust try was enough to end a run of three defeats in a tense match at Gatehouse Lane.
The visitors kicked a penalty and hit the post with two more attempts.
West boss Nigel Richardson said: “It was very difficult conditions. Driving freezing rain made it scrappy. But a win’s a win.”
West remain eighth in the 12-team table.
