Sharp frosts and a scattering of snow did not deter competitors at the annual Inter-Schools Christmas Show Jumping Competition at Lime Kiln Farm on Saturday.
High school children from across the region competed in the 2ft 3 Novice, 2ft 6 Intermediate, 2ft 6 Pairs and 2ft 9 Open classes. St Clements High put forward a number of strong teams and Rosie Robinson riding Ardcarrig Snowball, Dominic McFarlane riding Arctic Fox, Paul Defty riding Colliyers Copperlite and Sophie Bartram riding Just Copper were Novice team winners.
The third team position went to Reepham pupils Alice Summers, Jenny Warne and Amy Summers. The team then carried on their success in the Intermediate class, pushing Springwood’s Davina Moat and Ping Along, Amba Jones and Storm, Amy Carter and Dexter Dude, Jess Mountain and Dolly Sox into second, with another Springwood team in third.
Rosie Robinson and Ardcarrig Snowball collected their fourth first place of the day by winning the Intermediate individual, ahead of Jess Mountain and Dolly Sox and Fletcher Yarham from Alderman Peel in third.
The pairs relay came down to a battle between Springwood and Reepham, with Springwood’s Jess Mountain and Millie Thompson then Tia Ackers and Davina Moat in first and third respectively and Reepham’s Rosie Mitchell and Jordanne Bonner in second with Alice Summers and Jenny Warne in fourth.
