Eight hours of jumping took place on Saturday at the Showjumping Fun Day, with classes starting at 20cm and going up to 70cm.

The 20cm was won by Lily Temple and Magic. The lead-rein section was won by Abbi McDonnell and Snowdrop, at Snowdrop’s first jumping show after having only learnt to jump two weeks ago.

Snowdrop also took top spot in the 30cm speed stakes with Andrea Abeysinge holding the reins. The duo finished five seconds ahead of Holly Burroughes and Banjo in second place.

Head of the line up in the pairs relay were Sophie Luck riding Karel and Imagen Geeves on My Lady Anchewsal. The popular Horse & Hound relay was won by Alice Casburn with her pony Robin and Archie the dog.

The Accumulator was hotly contested, with a tricky line of fences positioned for maximum points.

Only three combinations successfully negotiated this, as well as jumping the Joker fence to double their final score.

But Vickee Berry and her own Crystal Lady took the honours ahead of Alice Casburn in second and Imagen Geeves in third.

Another exciting class was Chase Me Charlie, which certainly had spectators on the edge of their seats! Emily Ringer and her 13.2hh pony Rosie were joint winners with Imagen Geeves, jumping an impressive 1.05m.

Alice Casburn and her second ride Birdie topped the final two classes of the day; the 60cm and 70cm. The next Showjumping Fun Day takes place on October 13.

Sunday played host to Senior British Showjumping. The British Novice was headed by Rosie Standing riding her own Kalingrad Grohot, just three tenths of a second ahead of Lizzie Barr and Wild Mantana Skies in second and Kim Pearson and Opal III in third.

Kim and Opal then went on to win the 95cm Open. Lola Lady and Dawn Bloyce were Discovery winners, beating Kieley Powles and Supreme Grace into second.

The 1m National Amateur first round was won by William Lyles and Bradmore High Flyer. The final class of the day was the 1.05m Open, won by John Garrett and Petite Pistolet.

This Saturday sees a Winter Qualifier Showing Show, with a huge range of in-hand, ridden and Working Hunter classes; all entries taken on the day. Sunday is Trailblazers Showjumping, open to juniors or seniors on ponies or horses, classes range from 55cm to 1m.
