With the snow and ice a distant memory, Forest Edge Arena was able to run the previously postponed Blue Chip indoor eventer trial. Entries were good considering the change of date, and that riders have struggled to exercise their horses over the last three weeks.
Young Millie Stennett from Ingham won the 60cm Pre Novice class riding A Beard’s Red Berry Holly, and was a commendable second and third in the 70cm Novice.
The charismatic skewbald CB Sam, owned by Sally Rose and ridden by Charlotte Rose Eyre, dominated both the 70cm Novice and the largest class of the day, the 80cm Open class.
Other principle winners were Jasmine Hunter from Hevingham, riding Oberon, taking the 90cm class, and a regular supporter of Forest Edge, Caroline Casburn, riding Racquet securing the first rosettes in the last two classes of the day, the 1m and the 1.10m.
There is just one more Blue Chip Indoor Eventer Trial qualifying show on February 17, with the championship show, (with last minute qualifiers), on Saturday March 16.
Tomorrow and Saturday is the turn of the British Showjumping seniors two-day show, and Sunday see the popular Rands & Wilson Feeds unaffiliated showjumping, with a Pony Club Dengie qualifier. For more details on the forthcoming events log on to www.forestedgearena.com.
