With a maximum number of entries judging didn’t conclude until late into the afternoon.

The highest percentage of the day was scored in the first class, the Preliminary 15. Rollestone Kharma ridden by Jacqui Lamming scored a very respectable 70.86pc to win comfortably. Teresa Swift rode two consistent tests on Undercover II to win both the Elementary 43 and 53. Regular riders at Forest Edge took the top two places in the Novice 35 class namely, Karl Dawson riding Pearl, with a winning score of 66.15pc and Alison Bailey riding her grey Manderley Classic.

The British Showjumping Seniors returned to Forest Edge on Friday for a two-day show. Friday was quieter than usual, but with the East of England Show falling foul of the unrelenting bad weather Saturday’s classes were well supported throughout.

A staunch supporter of Forest Edge, Tori Twite riding Galway Brogan, rode an effortless round to win the Forest Edge Regular Riders 1.05m Open, helping secure her a place in the final at the pre-Olympia Show in December.

Victoria Harris started Saturday’s classes by clinching wins in both the British Novice qualifier and the Senior Discovery class.

The rider of the day definitely was Lizzie Gray. Riding W. Smith’s Millstone Moll to win the Newcomers class, then later riding Lord Jovi, owned by D. Meads, Lizzie convincingly won the 1.20m and 1.30 Open classes.
