Norwich City II continue to ride high at the top of the Premier Division of the Marshall Motors Norfolk League after making it 16 points from a possible 18.
Their latest win came on the road as they returned from Thetford with a 7-0 success, the goals coming from Caroline Illing 2, Sarah Shelley 2, Emily Francis, Georgie Kidner and Maddie Taylor. UEA remain just a point behind after winning 4-1 at Lowestoft Railway while Dereham II are third following a 2-0 victory at Norwich City Ladies III.
City went close when Maria Andrews weaved her way through and was unlucky not to score.
An excellent cross from the right resulted in the first goal being scored by Becky Shephard. In the second half Dereham pushed on and Zoe Leverett’s strong shot resulted in a deflection into the goal.
Harleston Magpies III are fourth after putting 13 past Evergreens.
Diss played host to local rivals Harleston Magpies IV and drew 0-0. In the Diss goal Gemma Burton had to be at her best to deny Magpies, making some outstanding saves.
After the break Sophie Brooks went close but her shot was blocked.
Dereham III beat Beccles 4-2. Kate Lavers deflected in two short corner strikes by Becca Smith-Ames, who in turn scored twice from open play.
Watton II came away from Pelicans II with a 2-1 victory thanks to two goals from Amy Anderson and a penalty save from Serena Scott.
In Division One Norwich Dragons II returned from Yarmouth II with a 3-0 victory
Olivia Thomas dribbled the ball around a defender, ending in a cross for Amy Brown to score. A second goal came after the break from Sophie Cullens, who converted a cross from Lucy Hopgood. The game finished 3-0 when Pollyanna Watson scored, assisted by Caroline Wolfe.
Broadland II won 2-1 at Harleston Magpies V. Carolyn Duthie gave Broadland the lead when she converted a cross from Issie London. Although Magpies equalised before the break, Broadland’s domination in the second half of the game continued with a second goal from London securing the points.
Norwich Dragons V squeezed past Lowestoft Railway II 3-2. Niamh McLaughlin gave Rails the lead but Rosie Korn equalised through a sea of players. Then it was Dragons’ turn to dominate with two goals from Laura Goodbun making the difference. Hannah Atkin had brought Rails back to 2-2.
Reepham Ladies lost 2-1 at UEA III, Yvonne Seago scoring a late goal.
Division Two leaders Norwich Dragons IV beat Harleston Magpies VI 6-1, Annika Richardson leading the way with two goals. Also on target were Scarlett Brown, Debbie Santa Clara, Catherine Bourassa and Lucy Campbell.
Norwich City IV shared the points with Loddon II, drawing 2-2 (Louise Owen, Holy Robinson).
In Division Three Sprowston III beat Breckland 3-0 with goals from Liz Hollis, Sharon Weeks and Holly Thomsen.
