Newly promoted Diss came close to securing their first win in the Premier Division but in the end had to settle for a 2-2 draw against Evergreens.
Diss went behind in the first half but this inspired the away team and captain Gaby Rolingson, playing in an unfamiliar central midfield role, picked the ball up just inside the Evergreens half and her deflected shot flew into the net.
Diss’s pressure paid off when the ball found its way on to the end of Danni Strange’s stick who coolly slotted it home from close range.
With 10 minutes to go some good wing play from the Evergreens’ right led to a long range shot somehow finding its way through a sea of yellow shirts to hit the back board.
Norwich City II top the Premier Division on goal difference after winning 11-0 at Watton II.
Georgie Kidner opened the scoring with a neat run and tap in and it was soon 3-0 with Kidner scoring again and Rebecca Green also on target.
Kidner then released perfectly to find City’s Emily Francis running onto the far post for a final touch.
Kidner rounded off the first half with a strike from the edge of the circle to make it 5-0.
The goals came thick and fast after the break through Kidner, Green, Francis, Lauren Lawrie (2) and Sarah Shelley.
City are one of three sides to have have taken seven points from their opening three games. Lowestoft Railway were held to a 3-3 draw at Pelicans II at the weekend while Dereham II beat Thetford 2-0.
In the same section Norwich City III picked up their first point of the season when they drew 1-1 at Beccles with Hannah Jarvis scoring a second half equaliser.
Norwich Dragons III hammered Dereham IV 8-0 in Division One to make it back-to-back victories. Their goals were scored by Pollyanna Watson (3), Caroline Wolfe (2), Flora Gregorie (2) and Amy Brown.
Broadland II share the spoils with UEA II in a 1-1 draw.
A first minute run by Izzie London saw her reverse flick the ball into the UEA net for her debut goal. UEA, with a number of freshers in their side, started to get their game together and it was no surprise, after a barrage of penalty corners, that Amy Corfield’s strike eluded the keeper to equalise.
Norwich City V drew 1-1 with Harleston Magpies V, their goal coming from Cheryl Brown.
Norwich Dragons IV won 4-0 at Norwich City IV in Division Two. Led well by captain Kate Atkins the Dragons dominated possession and scored the goals they deserved through Holly Francis, Lynne Price, Debbie Santa Clara and Megan Harvey.
Norwich Dragons V eased past Breckland 3-0, with the goals from young players Izzy Woodcock, Marcy Windsor-Waite and Rosie Korn. A weakened Breckland squad kept the score down with some heroics from Liz Shaw in goal, normally their strongest outfield player.
