Yellow dancers were the fly to have this week here at Blackdyke trout fishery fished on a floating line with a slow retrieve. Sunday was a bitterly cold day for the Airflo Bank Masters heat 6. England international and local man Gavin Cairns qualified fourth and everyone had some good catches on a difficult day. The next heat is on Sunday, March 17 – there are five spaces left, pick up an entry at the lodge.

Rocklands

An incredible day last Wednesday saw Paul Humphrey from St Albans bank a total of 17 fish, 15 rainbows and two brown trout. With many anglers experiencing their rod rings freezing up over the last few days, the wind chill is still siginficant and the fish maybe slightly deeper. Despite this and with gin clear water, buzzers on a floating line have and will still account for most fish.
