Larkwood Trout Fishery has had excellent fishing over the holiday period, with some cracking bags of fish being taken. Season permit holder Graham Limer popped in for a couple of hours and had seven nice rainbows all around the 2lb mark. The biggest fish was caught by Mark Simpson at 9lb 3oz on a cats whisker. Regular angler Matt Bradbeer caught numerous fish on a black and green tadpole.
West Stow Lake is fishing particularly well with both lakes still being gin clear despite the rain.
Season ticket allocation is almost complete with only three spaces left – please ring Ian on 07776 370348 to enquire.
The new season opened on January 1 at Hobbs Lake Trout fishery on the Nar Valley Fisheries complex. The mild weather has encouraged the over-wintering Trout to move well and be willing to accept small black patterns fished just below the surface. A number of hard fighting Rainbows have been landed to 3lb 8oz, a very good first week.
The coarse fisheries on the site have also fished very well over the Christmas/New Year period, the Carp anglers having had the best of the sport on Lake Geneva with fish just tipping the 30lb barrier.

Nick Wale enjoyed a Spring-like day session on Saturday, when he landed 12 rainbows. Nick was using a floating line and small black buzzers and takes were coming at no more than 2ft deep. With the mild weather and overcast days, there have been periodic buzzer hatches during the day, but with such gin clear water, the smaller the selection the better.
Cats Whiskers and any small lures will also work if buzzers are refused. For more information or to book, please call James on 01953 483971 or visit www.rocklandsmere.co.uk
