The Autoglym HSCC Historic Festival consists of a thrilling series of races featuring cars from the racing past including Formula One cars.
This summer's festival - with the F1 championship the standout event of the weekend - featured a record number of entries, as well as a fantastic atmosphere with big crowds and sunny weather.
Sowerby qualified on pole position in his FW07C-14, leading from lights to flag to finish a commanding 25 seconds ahead of John Wilson's Tyrell 011 in second place. Steve Hartley crossed the line third in his Arrows A6-4.
In the Orwell Supersports Cup, Richard Piper's McLaren M8F claimed double victory, with two podium finishes for the March 765 of Silvio Kalb.
Stuart Tilley won the first of the weekend's Derek Bell Trophy races, for single seaters built between 1967 and 1979.
Tilley fended off competition from the Lolas of Mark Dwyer and Frank Lyons to take victory in his Trojan T101. Gregory Thornton won race two in a Surtees TS11.
More than 100 Formula Junior cars also competed at the historic north Kent track last weekend, a record entry for the racing category.
World-class touring car racers return to Brands Hatch with triple champion Andy Priaulx once again carrying the hopes of the British fans. Go to: www.motorsportvision.co.uk/brands-hatch for more information on how to book tickets.
Grant Holt and his agent have met with Norwich City chief executive David McNally this afternoon in an attempt to “resolve” their differences.
