Cliffe, from Mulbarton, needs to close down Dittmann’s 25.5 point lead in the twin races on his home circuit but his opponent’s experience may well trump Cliffe’s better circuit knowledge.

Meanwhile, making guest appearances at the Norfolk venue will be Formula Renault 3.5 racers, Antonio Felix da Costa and Kevin Korjus, who are using the event as a warm-up for the prestigious Macau Grand Prix F3 event giving the national racers a real benchmark to judge themselves against.

The Lotus Cup UK series finish their season this weekend at Snetterton, with Rob Boston holding a comfortable advantage over Stuart Plotnex in the Trophy category, while Norwich’s Dave Carr has his sights set on sixth place.

In the Supersport series, Steve Train has a 12-point cushion over Doug Setters, while Martin Donnelly, from Great Ellingham, has missed the last two races but is still in 15th place.

The Radical Clubmans Cup is set to be a three-way showdown between Bradley Smith, who holds a narrow advantage over Mark Abbott, with Matt Bell close behind.

Just three points separate Jamie Martin and Alex Harris in the battle for Golf GTi championship honours, while Tony Taylor has only a single point advantage over Martyn Walsh in the VAG Trophy standings, with Paul Taylor five points off the lead making for a nerve-racking finale.

The Red Dragon Winter Series caters for a host of Far Eastern built supercars with Nissans, Hondas and Toyotas battling for supremacy.

The Trackday Trophy runners complete the 16-race programme which roars off at 11.50am on Saturday and resumes at 9.30am on Sunday.
